African Feather Fin Catfish.?
Hello, I have two African Feather Fin Catfish. One about 4 inches long, another about 2 inches long.
Sexing African Feather Fin Catfish is one topic i would enjoy help on. so if anyone could aid me on that subject it would be much appreciated.
Other then that I am hoping that anyone could provide me with some information on them. I know a little about them by observation and my own research but i would like to know what others feel, know and think about the species. Your input will be very much appreciated and i will best my favorite answer. Thank you su much.

They aren't the easiest fish to sex. Only known way to sex this species is with venting. Venting is difficult and dangerous to the health of the fish so if you don't know what your looking for then I would strongly suggest against it.

I know they are egg layers and also have the nickname "cookoo catfish", they find a spawning pair of African mouthbrooding cichlids and dart in and out, at the same time the female drops eggs and the male dorps his milt or sperm, the female mouthbroader then picks them up thinking that the eggs are hers. Incubation time for the eggs of the African Feather Fin is shorter than the African fishes eggs so when the African Feather Fin fry hatch they use the other eggs as first food.
Here is a YouTube video that may give you an idea what to try accomplish. Go to time 1.45 and watch from there.
