k one of my goldfishes have gotten very inactive lately and wont eat
and i noticed that it had whitish (?) thing growing on his sides and beneath it the skin was unusually dark red.
first of all what's the possible name of the disease?
do i need to cure it and if so how do i cure it?
also, i have 2 other fishes in the same tank should i separate them?

It almost definitely is a funghal infection, for which you can buy tank treatment and this usually clears it up .... on the other hand it may just be time for your goldfish to die, like all other living things:/
For the time being it would be a good idea to seperate the fish, but the original tank will still need to be treated with the solution.

Goldfish really do not live long, and it may be this guys time to go.
But for now i would simply seperate the fish just in case of a spreading disease, such as Ick, or fin rot.
