I found that my fish have a disease or parasite called Ich (ick) and it is on the body of two fish. I know this probably means the entire tank is contaminated. These are fish I rescued from a creek. They are mostly Sunnys but there are a few trout nymphs. One has a severe case where it looks like white fuzzy mold on one entire side of his body. I have removed this fish from the tank. What should I do to treat the infection? I know to raise the temperature in the tank (which I will do) but what about the fish??
You need to buy meds that will treat the Ich and it sound like you also have a fungal infection (the white fuzzy stuff) so it would be better to get a broad spectrum type of med. Go to yout local pet shop and seee what they have in stock. If you buy two seperate meds then make sure they can be mixed. Ich is contagious so treat the whole tank. Just don ' t buy methylene blue on it's own (it's not very effective on it's own and damages plants).
