is my betta water to cold?

i have a betta that has been slugish to day is it cause his water is to cold
If the water temperature is 78-80 degrees, it is fine. If it is up to 3 degrees below that, then yes, his water is too cold.

If it seems like his water is fine then maybe he is lethargic or constipated. Give him a cooked and mashed up pea to eat, then fast him for a few days.

Your betta could also be overfed. If he gets more than 2-3 pellets every day, with one day to fast, then he is getting too much food.

Hope your betta is ok.
Maybe he's just bored? Maybe he's bloated from over-feeding? Maybe there's bad stuff in the water? Maybe he's just not all that active today? Who knows!? What you should do, if your worried about the water temperature, is add a transfusion of warm water, slowly adding more over the course of the day. Remember to take out some of the old water before you put the new in, and add water conditioners.
Possibly, cold water makes them lethargic, then they stop eating, then they die. They can live OK down to about 70F, but 75-80F is their preferred temperature. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Well do you have a heater? You do not need one, but it helps. There are many reasons it could be sluggish.

-Tired

-Overfed

-Sick

There is a milllllion more possibilites.
Anything below 76F will cause the betta to become lethargic. Bettas are tropical fish so they require a heater to keep their tank at a steady 78-82F.
Dont htink so mine is slugish also even though i dont have a heater. NOT sure but when they get older they get weaker and sleep more (mostly mine does and he is old)
A male betta always looks sluggish but if it has lost colour then the water is too cold.
