hi i have 2 questions 1st one is y did my female betta eat my ghost shrimp i dont mean it killed it but it actually ate it all that was left was the head. my 2nd question is can my yellow lab cichlid live by himself in a 10 gallon tank
the rules about fish are BS, for now a 10 gallon is fine, i have 2 cichlids in a 4 gallon for a year now, but im going to upgrade soon because they are getting big and they do the space .
1. because bettas are predators and ghost shrimp is prey.
2. No. One cichlid needs at least 50 gallons.
Daniel, of course two female bettas will attack each other. If you plan on keeping female bettas together, you have to have at least five so they can establish a pecking order. My five females do perfectly fine with each other, just as long as they remember their place. And the one inch of fish per gallon is a loud of crap. Not only do you know nothing about cichlids, it appears you know nothing about fish in general.
yellow labs need a miniumum of 40 gallons. some bettas will eat shrimp.
