umm i have 3,500 koi that are 3 inch and i have 1,000 of the

how much will i get from selling them
damn you have a lot of fish
3 "koi sell at retail stores around me for around $ 5.

17 "koi could be anywhere from $ 25 to several hundred a piece, depending on quality.

To get rid of that many you'll need to find a wholesaler who can take them.

It's also a bad time of year to be trying to sell pond fish (at least in this hemisphere) all the fish stores near me are overflowing with trade-ins from people closing out their ponds for the winter.
The fact that you are asking means you know very little about koi and the value of koi and how to determine the quality of koi. If that is the case then you might want to hire a local koi dealer to help you price and sell them. The koi you have could be worthless and could be worth tens of thousands. No way to tell by simply giving the sizes. Its all about the quality of the koi.

First I suggest you cull the 3 "koi. Keep only the very best ones and grow them out. This is easier said then done. The colorless ones become bait, the slightly colored ones are sold for maybe $ 0.10 and the semi nice ones are sold for maybe $ 0.50 to $ 1 at the most. Hopefully you end up with maybe 2 or 3 dozen that you really like and you grow out to be sold next year for around $ 10 to $ 20 each. Then from those you keep maybe 5 or 6 to grow another year and sell for a couple hundred each.

The 17 "koi are another story. If they are show quality they could be worth anywhere from $ 500 to $ 5,000 each, maybe even more. But if they are just kinda average pond quality koi, then anywhere from $ 10 up to $ 100.
