i heared that u can cycle the tank by only putting some food, how is that?
You can buy additives that help establish your tank.

Because you already have a tank your old water will contain lots of bacteria fro your new tank. Suck out some of the old water - better still get some of the gunge from the bottom. Add to your new water.

I would use this, let your filter run a few days. Add a couple of fish and a few days later you should be ready for more.
Cycling is important, and it's important to keep the bacteria healthy (only changing 25% of the water once a week, rinsing the filter media in AQUARIUM water once a month).

You cycle by having a source of ammonia. The bacteria will colonize, and when there is no more ammonia the colony has established! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

By feeding your aquarium food, you are producing some ammonia. You can also buy pure ammonia, or what I like to do is drop a frozen shrimp in the water for a few hours. This produces tons of ammonia, perfect to start a colony.
