apple snail on 10g aquarium?

  hi first i know that apple snails grow big heres the thing where i live theres only 2 petshops 1 is close to my house but i like to call it petshop of horrors since everything is dead there and the other one is a 30minutes drive any way i havent found mystery snails the only thing they have both petshops are apple snail i have a 10g aquarium i dont any fish yet put on there since the tetra safe start will arrive next week im waiting for the bottle to get here any way here the thing will a betta and an apple snail only those 2 on the 10g aquarium will they fit nice? i know the apple snail grows big but i wont buy a 20g aquarium as i dont have money and i dont have space give me your opinion i have seen videos with apple snails on 10g and they look just fine just be honest thanks
You will be fine doing that. Although Apple snails do get quite big, they are not as active as fish, so their bioload is not as great as a fish with the same body mass.



Your 10gal tank will technically only be 50% stocked with those 2 critters, but that's a good thing as it makes it easier to care for.

3-5 olive nerite snails would be the best option but I can't even find these anywhere. I had to order them. The apple snail will be fine in a 10 gallon but if it is a new tank, I 'd strongly suggest waiting about a month till you start growing algae to eat or you will have to feed it dried seaweed. It may even do good with eating lettuce though. Snails don't so much have a minimum tank size since they don' t need room to swim around and are not so much a territorial animal.
Just one apple snail and a betta will be fin in a 10 gallon.I don `t think an apple snail will get any bigger than golf ball size.
