I have a 36 gallon bow front. It is currently set up with three pieces of decoration which leaves space in the middle (not including plants, small rocks, etc). I was looking into new ways to set it up, is it better to use the smaller pieces or to have a set up with one large center piece, like this:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index . js ... I'm only stocking tropical freshwater until I really get the hang of it, and I've really only seen the second set up for salt water fish.
I can only see 1 tank which has rocks in and that one is only fit for a apair of dwarf cichlids. There are too many rocks for a community tank of small fish.
Well if you put less rocks than the picture then they have more swimming space but I mean its a 36 gallon tank its big so they will still have plenty of space to swim and with those rocks in the middle it looks cool (kinda like a reef tank) so if you want you can either have rocks at the back or in the middle or put lots of plants (live or fake or both) however you want its your tank but if I had your tank I would make it like the picture but with a bit of more plants.
i would keep the centre with lots of decorations like in the picture, but i would leave space for them to swim through the middle ... like one rock that has a hole in the middle.
