What should I add to my tank?

I have a little 2.5 gallon tropical that used to hold a blue crayfish. It recently passed after 4 years. I have since put one female Betta (the centerpiece), 6 TINY feeder guppes, one (magical) ghost shrimp (I call him that because he evaded my Tiger Oscar for 3 days), and two unknown fish that I caught at my mountain house. I am about to add a Chinese algae eater. Please do not complain about the sizes of my fish and how they will out grow it ; I have 4 other tanks that I will move them into when the grow larger. I will maybe add 2 Red Cherry Shrimp. Will the fry survive if they breed in this tank? Any other suggestions are welcomed. Please be polite. Thanks in advance !:)
As long as it's a 'growing out' tank why not just let the guppy breed and move the other fish into a different tank, 2.5 gal is a perfect size as a breeding tank for guppy. That way you have a constant supply of feeder fish and maybe let the CAE stay in too to keep a clean bottom from lost food.
Housing all those fish is overstocking. They need a 5 + gallon tank heated and filtered. Betta's and guppies are not recommended to be kept together. If you get a 5 gallon or better a 10, your options would not be as limited. If the fry survive, that would not be good for them or the other fish. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Good Luck, and Hope this Helps.
If I was you I'd take out all of the fish but the betta and ghost shrimp, and then add 2 more ghost shrimp. That tank is overstocked, adding more fish wouldn't be a good idea. Also, CAE's can get pretty aggressive as they get older, so I'd stay away from them. If you want an algae eater with your betta and shrimp, you can get a 5 gallon and stock it with 3 oto cats, 3 ghost shrimp, and a betta. The feeder guppies and unknown fish should be rehoused in one of your larger tanks.

* Please know that in writing this I don't mean to be impolite. I think that for the welfare of your fish you should change their housing a little.
