definitely ick, its like cotton isn't it?, if you have more fish in the tank then its too late to isolate it treat them all:) good luck

The question is hard to answer without a picture. Is it small dots, small patches of cotton looking stuff, longer patches of cotton looking stuff? Is it a larger white circle with a different colored center? Give more of a description and preferably a pic and i can be more help.
DONT LISTEN TO MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO ANSWERED THE QUESTION! okay ur goldfish has ick so change the water 25 percent ever 4 days and raise the temp a little then but 1 tablespoon of salt in per every gallon it shud go away in about 2 weeks and start clearing in a few days but act fast! i dont no how far along the disease is.
Your goldfish has ick, you can get tablets at the store that you drop in the tank! make sure you take out the filter bag though so it doesnt absorb all the medicine! Depending on how long it has had ick you might still be able to help him! Hope hes okay!
If I recall, my friend's fish had white spots called ick. I think drops in the water will fix it. Go to a pet store with your question ..
