I am just wondering because I have fire bellied toads as well and I always waste a bunch of the liquid stuff in order to fill their little bowl of water. If I am in a major hurry, could I also used bottled water for my fire bellies ?
water these days contains chlorine and chloramine ... in the olden days water could be left out because it only contained chlorine which would evaporate .... chloramine does not evaporate so leaving water to sit is useless ... you would need a quality dechlorinator ... and there are no regulations regarding bottled water so you really have no idea what is contained in it and i would not advise using it ... i would stick to tap water that has been safely dechlorinated for your fire bellies: O)
Only in terms of chlorine, and you usually leave it out longer than 24 hours. Usually you only do it if you are working with large amounts of water, (> 200 gallons) and you aren ' t dealing with critters that are extremely sensitive to contaminants. The water needs to be in sunlight for a good while, and that will decompose the chlorine in the water if you are using municipal water. Other impurities won't be removed, so you ' re really better off just using the treatments for the small amount of water you are using. Bottled water isn't meant for aquarium set ups either, so I would avoid that as well.
Yes and no. Leaving water out for 24 hours allows chlorine to evaporate out, but a lot of water companies now use chloramine which does not evaporate out. Water may also contain heavy metals that won't evaporate.

Using a water conditioner/dechlorinator will instantly neutralize these harmful substances.
Bottled water can actually contain some substances which can be unsafe for amphibian/aquatic use.
Yes it does, when I first started having fish I had a 2.5 gallon tank I used and I would just leave water in a separate container for 24 hours and I used it and the fish were fine! That was before I knew that there were drops you could get to take care of the chlorine! Now I just put the drops in as directed, mix it in the water and put the fish in , and they do fine! So you could just go to the nearest pet store and get some of that and it would be alot easier and faster! Hope this helped!
You can but extra steps need to be taken if your water company is using chloramine instead of chlorine.
All you need to know (a great read for all fish owners!):

if your on a budget leave the water out for 24hour +
if not buy the dechlorinator its much safer
De-chlorinating -
24 hours? No
You need carbon.
Just buy a bottle of de-chlorinator, it's almost instant.
I do not think so
