Prayers? Flushing down the plughole? Burial in backyard? Or simply in the trashcan? Or snack for pet cat/dog? Or snack for you on a whole-wheat cracker?
Bury it if you can. I've had to just flush it down the toilet as I don't have a garden just a balcony.
Hope i helped, MegzieB: 0
Of course, this is simply a personal matter. Your choice. I have usually flushed mine. If you chose not to flush, then, why not bury it in your flower garden? Even thought pet fish are not usually very large, they can still add nutrients to our much depleted soil.
In many areas, it isn't even legal to bury a pet, at all. To bad really, since their remains would also add to soil nutrients. In most areas, disposing of any animal carcass in the trash is illegal, due to health laws. Most, if not all animal shelters, and/or veterinarians use the services of crematoriums. In this way, the bodies are disposed of, and any disease is destroyed.
It really all depends on the relationship you and your fish had. I know, from personal experience, flushing it down the plughole is the easiest and most convenient way. However, my sister's fish had passed and she decided to find a special place to bury him in our yard. That is the most sentimental way to handle it. Hope this helps and sorry for you loss.
It's actually illegal to flush a fish down the toilet. Surprising, right? Don't believe me? It says (in all caps) right here (among other places ):

I think a burial service with a candle light vigil would be nice. It doesn't have to be big, just 50 of your closest friends and family. RIP Mister Fish, may he rest peacefully in heaven.
If it's a little kid put it in a box and bury it. As an adult I simply would flush it down the toilet.
If its too big to fit in the toilet, bury it in a garden:]
(Assuming it died from old age)
Hmm:) I think I buried my Goldie in the backyard in 4th grade. Sad times, but then I got a puppy! Nice question man.
Burry it in your backyard or somewhere
