I have in my garden a small fish pond with comets and inside I have in my all way a nice tropical fish tank with rummy nose and glow-lights and cardinals and a cat fish and glass cat fish. But want to know I saw a small tank in a shop for £ 9.99. it had pump plants and it was 21x18 24cm. and a man who cleans my tank said I could have that with just 1 lion head gold fish. were could that tank go in my room or in another room away from sunlight? and will a lion head be ok just want a second opinion?
That seems a tad small for a goldfish. Perhaps a nice mail Betta would fit better in a tank that size ...
A lionhead needs about 15 gallons by itself minimum, though a bit more is always good because it makes it easier to keep your parameters steady. They also need a good filter, preferably a HOB filter or something similar that will keep the surface of the water moving, and it has to turn over all of the water in the tank ten times per hour. Smaller tanks really need smaller fish, but if you decide to go with the larger tank and still get a lionhead then putting it somewhere away from sunlight is best, it will make it easier to regulate temperature and keep algae growth under control.
