Can i mix to tropical fish together?

I have 1 fish now, his names jesus (: And i have a half a gallon tank, i don't want my lil 'fish to get lonely, can i by another fish about the same size, and will they get along?
No fish can live in a 1/2 gallon tank so the answer is no
No tropical fish can survive long term in a 1/2 gal tank, adding more will just kill them quicker.

Without even knowing the species, it's also impossible to say. But if it's surviving in a 1/2 gal tank, its probably a betta, and in that case the answer is definitely NO (well not with another betta anyway), no matter what size the tank is.

Ian
Sorry, your tank is WAY too small. The smallest tank should be 5 gallons, which can only house a betta. Any smaller is animal cruelty, and that's not a nice thought.

Buy a proper sized aquarium, at least 10 gallons if you want to add other fish. What type of fish do you have?

Some fish will get along with others, while some may attack. Such as, bettas will attack other bettas, but can live with different fish.

Do research on how to care for your current fish first before buying any more.
Hey: DD (you seem happy),

A half gallon tank is too small to comfortably house any fish. I assume you have a betta (long fins, colorful, came in a tiny cup), right? It's a common myth that these fish can live in small amounts of water. The small tank you have was made to scam people out of money, not to provide a quality home for a pet. There is a general rule (that doesn't always apply) that for 1 inch of fish you need at least 1 gallon. So in the bowl you have now you can get a fish that will grow to a max of .5 inch. There are almost no fish that small. A better tank would be a 5 gallon tank with mini heater and mini filter. You can buy kits that include the tank, filter, and heater for about $ 40. In a 5 gallon tank you can house:

Jesus and an african dwarf frog (yup, a frog. Kinda cool, right? Ok, maybe not.)

Jesus and 3 Oto cats (they eat algae, and are pretty darn cute)

Jesus and 3 Ghost shrimp (feisty little things, don't taste good in a shrimp cocktail though)

Jesus and an apple snail (kinda neat)

Betta's (Siamese fighting fish) are pretty territorial, and won't get lonely without fishie friends. It's possible to keep a betta in a community tank, but it should be at least 15 gallons. If your fish isn't a betta, then disregard any advise mentioned above. Please tell us what kind of fish you have, so we can give you proper advise.

Tell Jesus I say hi:)
No fish can live in a half a gallon tank. Even a Betta requires 5 + gallon heated and filtered tank. If you want to get one more fish you should upgrade to a larger tank at least 5 gallons but the bigger the better.

Good Luck, and Hope this Helped.
Its not good that the fish is in a 1/2 a gallon by itself it needs at least 2 gallons and with something else at least 5gallons if you upgrade to a 10 gallon you can get a cory catfish 4 tetras and 4 guppies remember to get to cories cuz they like to be in schools
yea. down stairs in my dinning room i have a tank with a bunch of tropical fish. i have cat fish mixed with tropical sharks sp buy some more alot more
