http://www.aquariumlife.net/projects/diy ... I thought these were really cool and my dad said he would make me one today cause he has some PVC pipe, but I just feel uneasy about using gluing the gravel onto it, like hot glue ... it says to leave it for an hour then let it soak for a while and rinse but I don't know if putting stuff with glue in your aquarium is safe?
that is safe, that is cool, and i am making one now too: O) i would not use hot glue, no way ... i would use either aquarium silicone (not bathroom silicone, it has a fungicide added which would not be good for the fish) or Krazy glue gel or Super glue gel ... both of those glues are inert substances that were originally invented to close human wounds in areas lacking proper medical facilities ... it is non-toxic and i use it to attach plants to rocks and driftwood ... you can google it and you will see many fishkeepers use this glue in tanks without problem and it even cures underwater ... it does dry whitish so use sparingly ... but don't use a hot glue gun, that glue will break down in the water ... i feel your betta is getting a super deluxe upgrade: O)
its not the only thing you should use to stick things an an aquarium is aquarium sylicone its cheap about three dollars a bottle and there is instructions the glue youre using could have toxic chemicals that are toxic to fish so iv would get the sylicone oh yes you can buy it at any pet store
