I plan to get a convict cichlid and stick it in my 10 gallon tank with 2 cory catfish and a farlowella but only for a month, and i know that they are very aggressive and will probably bully my fish but if he is like some cichlids and only start to become aggressive when their older then they should be fine just for a few weeks.
Convict ccihlids are not considered more than mildly agggressive at all. They get a bad reputation because aquarists who keep livebarers and tetras upgrade to them because they are cheap and easy to get. Adult pairs of Convict cichlids are very aggressive if they they are spawning. and then only a male and female pair. They should leave your catfish alone. All cichlids are intelligent, all demonstrate some agrression, and recognize their keepers, but convicts are near the bottom of the list.
Convict cichlids are very aggressive and they will make quick work of your other fish. Convict cichlids are notoriously aggressive for thier size and their tank mates should be larger and just as aggressive. I have had convict cichlids that become crazy killers at only 1 ". I would not put a convict in your tank unless you are not fond of your cory's and farlowella.
