HI, so my parents agreed to let me get fish (i'm paying) if a make a powerpoint of what type of fish, the price, and how to take care of them. I want to get more then one fish but I ' m definitely not an expert so they'd have to be easy to take care of. I had one goldfish when I was seven and it jumped out of the tank! So my question is what type of fish and how many can I get in a 15 gallon tank and what type of tank accessories I should have... THANKS!
Also, if it's not to much what about a 10 gallon tank?
You will need:
Filter that has a flow of 150 gallons per hour
Heater rated for a 15 gallon tank (at least)
Gravel for the bottom
Plants and Decor
Gravel Vacuum and Bucket for water changes
Prime (chemical)
API Master Test Kit
First, you will want to read up on the nitrogen cycle. Www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
Pay close attention to the section on FISHLESS CYCLING. If you go through this method, you will save your fish's lives, and save money. The shrimp method is the best in my opinion. After you are cycled, change the water once a week, about 25%.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com For fish, how does this sound? You can google some pictures for ideas!
2 platy fish, female (avoids fights and constant babies)
1 dwarf gourami or honey gourami
3 balloon mollies (not the regular type, they get too big)
5 panda cory catfish (must be the pandas, as they stay little)
This will be a managable amount, with variety in activity, swimming level, and color. For a 10 gallon, leave out the balloon mollies.
Hope this helps!
You can try guppies or tiger barb. Easy to take care of. In a 15 gallon tank you can put 5-6 fish and more. But, the more fish the frequent you have to do water change because when there's too much fish, there will be a lot of waste produce and will results to bad bacteria spawning in your aquarium and this will be bad for your fish. Basics thing you need to setup an aquarium is anti chlorine liquid, salt and water pump (get small one is enough). Other decoration in your aquarium depends on your own budget and can be added from time to time ... Welcome to fish world ...
Look for a tank that comes with all of the filters , heaters and medication etc. You can find them at most pet stores. About 5 fish if they are going to remain small will work. Select some for the surface of the tank, some mid tank and one or two for the bottom. Any qualified aquarium store will be able to help you.
If u love livebearers like i do then go for a community tank
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com If your room temperature is 27C like mine you wont need a heater in fact u need a cooling fan/chiller
But for some countries u will need a heater
Livebearers are like Platies, Guppys, Mollies, Swordtails etc etc
1. Cycle your fish tank, using the fishless cycle way or if u dont have much of a choice cycle with fish
go search on how to cycle in the internet.
2. Get all the items needed for an aquarium, you can find that in the internet too.
3. Make sure you dont overstock your tank
4. Provide your fish a variety of food, flakes/pellets as a main. Freeze dried food can take as treats
once a while.
5. If u go for any livebearers make sure u get 2 females for every male, a male has a sharp looking
fin at the anal fin, and female has a round fin next to the anal fin.
6. And livebearers will produce fry monthly, make sure u have an extra tank or u could use the fry's
as an excuse to get another 10 gallon=).

7. To know whether livebearers are pregnant, they will have dark gravid spots near the anal fin. You
can do some research on pregnant livebearers.
Its mostly all on the internet, we cant mention all of it. Hope i helped!
