Krazy glue gel or any super glue gel ... do not use too much as it looks white when dried ... i attached a large anubias to a piece of slate and the roots have grown all around the slate and into the substrate .. . i glued java fern to driftwood in my shrimp tank ... and i glued little anubias to rocks ... none have died and all have thrived ... super glue is used quite regularly in fresh and marine tanks ... it is an inert substance that will not mess with your tank in any way ... it even cures underwater ...
"Cyanoacrylate 'super glue' was developed by the military as an emergency chemical bandage for severe lacerations, so I'd imagine that makes it pretty non toxic just dangerous since it bonds nearly instantly to skin."

To hold it down? Try some string but really you could just bury the roots in the gravel. A little tiny bowl would help too. Fill a tiny fish bowl 3/4 the way with gravel, put the plant in then fill it up the rest the way ...
DO NOT bury the roots in the gravel like snooki said. Attach it with rubber bands, strings, and fishing lines. You could also attach it to driftwood.
You can use regular string, fishing line, or rubber bands. Just carefully attach it.

I have planted them in the gravel like Snookie said and it worked. Did it about 3 years ago and it is huge and beautiful.
A lot of people like to tie it on using fishing line.
