My guppy got attacked by this tiger looking fish in my mom's tank and it's tail is is in half. My guppy is alive but i don't know if he might last. He's right now in a big bowl with a lid with 2 of his friends. (they're guppies 2) Is there any way I could help him with his tail? Please Help!!
You probably have some tiger barbs. These guys can be pretty nasty, especially if you do not have them in a group of at least 5. For your guppy, try soaking his food in some garlic juice (a jar of minced garlic with no oil will have some juice) I would set up a temporary quarantine tank (2.5 gallon will only cost you $ 15 at petsmart) and buy some Stress Coat and VitaChem to boost immune system and promote fin growth.
There is no way of HELPING his tail ... Really at this point, all you can do is hope for the best. If he cannot swim or barely more anymore, you need to humanely euthanize him. Get FREEZING cold water with lots of ice and put the guppy from the warm to the freezing and he will pretty much die instantly. I hope your guppy gets better ... It stinks when you have to put a guppy down.
If he can swim and still get around he should be fine. Get some med. for his fins to help him start healing. My friend has a few goldfish who only have 1/2 a tail fin or a little nub. They are a little slow swimming but are okay and have been for years.
it might of been a tiger barb don't mix them with guppies kay now to fix your guppies problem go to the store and buy some stress reliever and some fin helper t help it grow its fins back this will do the trick
yes it will just go buy some stress stuff and some tail medicine ... BUT MAKE SURE U PUT THE GUPPIES IN A TANK WITH A FILTER !!!!!!!!!
