How many years of experience do you need to breed Bettas?

I'm not going to now, I've only owned Bettas 3 months I'm not NEARLY experienced enough. But, maybe one day I will, but how long should I be owning Bettas before that?
It's not about time - it's about knowledge and the right equipment.

Some people keep fish for years, but still have no clue how to care for them correctly. Others can read a book and jump right in the deep end.

You will also need several tanks, a way of keeping multiple males separated as they mature, breeding stock that are worth breeding, and some way to sell the offspring.

There are many fish that are both easier to breed than betta, and easier to sell the offspring once you do.

No time limit rule. Just do lots of research on the best ways to condition them and how to house the babies and when to split them up as they grow. Honestly, you can bettas for years and do no research and not be ready, or you can have them for 3 months and spend lots of time on forums and fish websites learning how and be fully prepared.
About as much as you have now. If you know how to house them, feed them, and clean them you preferably add 2 females per 1 male and an bubble nest ensues and two of them will breed. The females must then be removed or they will eat the eggs. No temperature or other adjustments are necessary.
It wouldn ' t take very long to know how to breed but to know the nature of the fish. Some bettas are good nest builders and some are poor nesters. The ones that are good have a strong saliva and the ones that are poor have a weak saliva.
about as long as you've had them ... look its easy ... my first time i put them in a 10 gallon and i only had them for a couple of weeks .. everything was fine .. dont sweat it
just a little knowledge, patience, and determination. Experience will come once you actually try breeding the bettas. good luck!
