How many Corydoras can fit in 29 gallons?

I have 5 Bronze Corydoras and want to get 1 more. It is again only 1/2 "same with the last 3 new ones I bought. Will my 29 gallon have enough ground room for 6 to be comfortable? How many can fit in 29 gallons? I'm not worried about overstocking as I'm getting rid of a few platies tomorrow. Ow and 1 of my Oto cats died ... So Overstocking isn't involved.

Also I was told at Petsmart that you can not keep different colors of Corydoras together. Is that true? Could I add one or two albinos? Would they group up or fight?

I have never had luck with the spotted/pepper breed. Are they more sensitive?
Petsmart and Petco employees don't really know what they are talking about. I used to work at several Petsmarts and am an Icthiology expert. I was really out of place there. You can keep any species of corys together. No problem whatsoever. They are all a very calm community fish.

Six could be fine in a 29 gallon, but what other fish do you have besides corys?

The spotted pepper breed isn't any less hardy than another, it is the stock that the local suppliers are sending out. They may be inbred or a number of other factors could be involved. Inbreeding is a major issue with livebearers. Guppies in the wild can live several years. "Designer" guppies in captivity are lucky to make it even one year.

Corys are less likely to have that problem.

To previous posted, there is no rule that says 1 per 10 gallons. Not to be mean, but you don't know what you are talking about. And you can't make any statements about overstocking without knowing how many fish total are in the tank and what filtration system someone has.
The rule is one per 10 gallons, they need floor space not tank height ..

anyways i would stick with what you have as your over crowded so far. make sure to feed them at night, something like a complete sinking food tablet as they do 90% of there eating at night.

good luck
