i have one pregnant guppy i seperated her early from her tankmates is it okay?
HELP ME PLEASE.''
Thats actually correct what your doing there mate. Just remember when your fry hatch remember to at least put the mother in a breeder basket or in a smaller tank to heal up for a few days and put the fry in a seperate tank attached to a sponge filteration system. this is assured to make your fry grow. to an estimate i would say a 10g or maybe a 5 but its up to you. remember to feed them powder fish food or just crushed up fish food.
When I raised guppies, I never separated the soon-to-give birth, but instead had lots of live plants in the tank. Mom could go to a fairly quiet corner and give birth whenever it was right for her , and the babies simply hid in the plants. I never lost a mother, and very few of the fry became snacks for the other fish.
How early? I would about 2 weeks before because her tank mates will just eat the babies . Put her tank right by theirs so they can see each other. If she acts distressed, and its not withen a week or so to due date, put her back.
yes you can but i would aviod putting her in one of those tiny floating breeder boxes too early, but if it is a whole tank then that is fine, go ahead:) good luck.
That's awesome. Can you buy those seperation tanks in a bigger size for humans? My wife is becoming a real pain.
yes it will be fine as long as the tank is cycled properlly, filter, air pump for her and make sure she has a plant to hide in if she wants too
Yeah it it okay. This one fish expert told me to feed my guppy fry many times a day, very small amounts each time.
