I have a open air type of fish tank and its in my room , and i dont like people coming in and say ' I smell fish ' . Do fish tank really have fishy smells ? Anyway to stop it or reduce it?

My tank as well but it doesnt really smell that bad. First advice is to reduce feeding (once or twice daily is enough) and include a feed-free day once a week. Secondly, is to do regular water changes of at least 20% per week. Thirdly, you can include activated carbon in your fiter to reduce the smell although the carbon adsorbs the good stuff as well as the bad stuff so remove it if the smell is gone. I've experienced a very very bad smelling tank few weeks ago and what I did was change 40% of the water, then change about 25% of water again the next day.

Hi ok firstof all you need to clean it 1 s a week if you have no filter hun to educe the smell.Yes fish have a bit of a whiff if people dont like it tell them to get &*&% lol good luck hun x

Firstly do you have a licence for this tank ? what type of gun does it have ? how do the fish operate it without opposable thumbs and fingers ? this all sounds very dangerous to me !!!!!!!

I would try cleaning it more often and adding a filter so the water stays clean then whenever you clean the tank or change water put in allgae remover according to how many gallons are in the aquarium.

clean the tank heaps and dont overfeed
