First time betta breeding, very aggressive male!?
my male and female betta have been introduced for a week now, meaning shes in a chimney glass in the breeding tank with the male. Hes been doing what i read on the internet, (flaring, showing off etc ...) he made his bubblenest and her white bars have appeared and she has a white dot under her belly. So today i let her free in the tank with him, and i couldn't believe how agressive he was, he was chasing her violently and it looked like she was running for her life! And he was nipping her, while she was trying to hide. she got really tired so i put her back in her own tank, i just felt sorry for her. Should breeding betta be like this? Thanks for your help:)

Place a mirror in front of him. He will think its another male betta trying to get his girl. Place the girl inside her chimney. Show the mirror, and then place the mirror next to the female for ten minutes. The male betta will flare at the mirror thinking that its another betta. After ten minutes, let her out. follow the girl with the mirror and he will mate with her quickly. If he doesnt, put him in a small tank with another male betta. Let them notice eachother until they fight for less than a minute. Put him back in the tank and he will have changed his aggression levels.

Have bred bettas before , i currently own 56 betta fry and I did this to my halfmoon when he didnt cooperate.

He is basically saying you're mine to her. Once she accepts that they will wrap. In the beginning she doesn't want to do it that easily which is why she runs but then she accepts the fact its going to happen. Completely normal.

Bettas are just like that when they breed. He 'll chase her like a maniac for quite a while until she finally will relent and breed with him.
