Fish tank slightly cloudy?
I purchased an aquarium and started the conditioning of the water and decor before i get the fish, now the water is slightly cloudy i mean it looks good but theres a slight mist . I have a 30gal tank and i used conditioner after i filled it up and placed the decor inside. I also have two bamboo plants. So what do I need to do?
answer: Say hello to all your new bacteria!
This is a bacteria bloom, and it's very beneficial to your tank. It's all the bacteria settling themselves in and creating a healthy environment.
You need to let your tank continue to cycle until there is no more cloudiness, and until all of your water parameters are in the right places. Here's some info on tank keeping and cleaning.
Good luck with your new tank.:)
Number one rule: don't ever take your fish out of the tank. It will stress them out, especially if you use new water.
Number 2 rule: NEVER do a 100% water change, even in emergencies. If it's severe, a 50% is all you should do. A 25% change per week is sufficient. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
To do a correct water change:
Grab a soft washcloth or a sponge to clean off the glass. Clean
Get a gravel vacuum, and use as directed until 25% of the water is removed.
Change filter cartridge (every 3 weeks or so)
Fill container with water to replace what was taken out
Add any water conditioner or aquarium salt or medications
Let sit at least 5 minutes
Pour new water into tank
The temperature should be about 78F, the hardness about 15, and the pH about 7.0. Ammonia should be 0, nitrites should be 0, and nitrates should be less than 20.
Jungle AmmoniaClear Tabs will reduce ammonia.
ParasiteClear Tabs will reduce parasites and prevent diseases.
Jungle Aquarium Salt will prevent parasite and disease.
TetraAqua AquaSafe with BioExctract will neutralize ammonia from waste and leftover food, and is also a water conditioner.
Tetra EasyBalance with Nitraban will reduce nitrates and nitrites.
Definitely not okay. You're only at the beginning of your cycle. Just like FFA said. 4 or so more weeks.
No. You have another 4 weeks before you can add fish. Read here: www.bluecrayfish.com/cycle.htm
because you need to clean it out lol !!!!
