remember to condition both male and female bettas, raise the temperature, lower the pH, make sure the water is less than 6 "high, give the female plenty of places to hide, and give the male a place to build his nest (if you have any, floating indian almond leaves work well).
as for the fry, they will require food after about 2 days. infusoria cultures are easily created (look it up), but you can sometimes buy microworms or vinegar eels from a local fish store.
i never really have bred betta fish but i read about breeding them awile back and all i know is when the male starts making a bubble bed at the top of his tank then hes ready to mate but once you let them mate i think your supose to sepperate not sure and once the female lays her eggs your suppose to take her out of the tank because she'll eat them the male is the one thats suppose to take care of them
