How long will my
dog live?
i have a pa-pillion if u don't know what it is here's description: 1: lots of hair my dogs name amie. 2 she sheds allot 3 but she is healthy. but i have never took her to the vet before because she ran away what do i do
answer: The average lifespan of a papillon is 15 - 18 years. BUT - that's for a dog that's well looked after, including vet care. Yours - who knows? It's time to step up and take responsibility and provide your dog with the basic vet care that she needs.
I agree with Walking Lady you need to assume responsibility for your dog and take her to the vet.
If your dog is properly fed high quality dog food, regularly cared for by a vet, and remains healthy, she can live 14 - 15 years or maybe even longer.
Since yours has never been to the vet, all bets are off.
How can your dog run away if you're going to take her to the vet? She's small, crate her and take her in the crate.
Your dog needs to see a vet. She needs a health check, she needs her shots (parvo and some other dog diseases that are preventable are a horrible way to die), she needs to be spayed.
How do you know she is healthy if you have never taken her to a vet? She could have heart worms. Take the responsibility you assume when you own a dog. If you never take her to a vet, she could pass sooner than later. All you're doing is being a careless pet owner.
Who knows? Papillons live a long life, depending on the care they receive.
What you do is properly care for your dog, meaning going to the vet.
If your dog is healthy, has a good diet, goes on lots of walks and has lots of love, there is no reason for her to live a long and happy life. But unfortunately things to come up, just like in our lives; for instance arthritis, bone problems and so on.
