Help cat problem!!!!!?
I have a baby girl(cat).she's 1 year old and always a indoor cat.my brothers friend had some problem at house so he gave his cat to my brother to keep it for someday.when she(MY CAT) saw her(my brother's friends cat) she got so furious. she was growling, all angry, scaring that poor little cat. that cat was so nice to her but my baby girl was acting so dominant.that cat was mewing like a poor cat and my baby girl was scaring her. she kept doing that for half an hour.i thought she will be normal and be friends with her.but then my brother had to take that cat to his friend because my baby girl just won' let her stay. she did that once when i brought a stray cat.she scared him so much that that poor cat ran away.why does she do that? will she never be able to socialize? does your cat do the same?
answer:
Did you just put both cats in the same room and expect that they would be friends immediately? That's no way to introduce two cats. It takes a little thought, planning, and patience, and often takes several days. I've been lucky and been able to introduce a new cat in as little as one day, and on a different occasion it was about three weeks of growling and snarling, but eventually they got along - sort of, but were never best buds.

The next time you want to try it, be prepared. Check out these links for information on how to introduce a new cat:

She may never accept another cat in her territory. I have two cats both indoor cats and I got them as a set. I tried a few times to bring in a stray kitten because I felt bad but they both acted like they wanted to kill it. Then again my Mom had the same problem and all she did was let them deal with it... so you have to decide if you have the patience to add to the family...

personal experience.
if your cat has been the only cat in your house her whole life than it is normal that she does this. i had a cat that was exactly the same and she will get used to another cat but it could take at least a month for her to stop. cats do that to show that its there territory and all they need is time to get used to the fact that there not going to be the only cat anymore. so just give her time and dont force them to be close to eachother she will eventually get used to it
the cat maybe feels thats its territory n your family and maybe thinks that other cat is a threat
you should have her put down
