HELP PLEASE!!! Little black bugs- not fleas?
my kitten is 9 weeks old. she had fleas which im guessing came from the fleas jumping onto our jeans since she is an indoor cat. she was flea free at the vet last week.
i gave her a flea bath, and some frontline plus. she is currently at the vets being boarded since we fogged the house yesterday.
but today, im starting to think that it is more than just fleas! there are tiny black bugs crawling on my daughter and biting her. they jump too. its easy to find them on my daughter since she is only 1.
we've fogged the house, and even sprayed everywhere with this flea spray. what are these black bugs and how do i get rid of them??
answer: If they jump, they are fleas for sure. Fleas also bite humans, specially children. Your daughter has probably some marks resembling mosquito bites along her body. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Wash your daughter's sheets and clothing thoroughly. Also, wash all your rugs and carpets and keep applying the spray in your house and cat. It takes some time for them to go away because fleas are very resilient, but they eventually will.
They might be bed bugs, go check your daughter's bed, look at the mattress and along the seams, flip it over. You will see one, two of them crawling around. Also you can tell if they are bed bugs because there will be teeny, tiny blood smears on the sheets and baseboards of the walls. If you have bed bugs, good luck cause thats another story!
But if they are not, they could still be fleas. In either case, you have to fog and spray several times separated by a couple weeks in order to kill the bugs (fleas, bed bugs) at the different stages of their lives.
If they jump, they're fleas. Fleas come in all colors from pale tan to dark blackish, I've seen red ones in our area. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Remember that fogging usually does not kill the eggs. Keep a daily vacuuming routine to suck up and kill the live ones in your home.
I'm not sure. Ask an exterminator to come to your house if they don't go away. If you think they are not fleas I'm not sure flea spray will work.
