How to get cat urine out of suitcase?

I have one of those hard-shell suitcases that I just purchased a few months back and used once; the inner body is lined by a thin nylon fabric lining, but the outer is hard plastic (not canvas). I had it open in a room the cats are not allowed in, but the door was left open once last week and they peed in it.

I've wiped the whole thing down with clorox cleanup wipes, sprayed 3 times with the pet odor remover, and still the smell remains (though a bit less.) I paid $ 80 for this suitcase, I can't afford to throw it out ... how can I remove the smell completely? On my next trip I sure don't want all my clothes to smell like cat urine. Any suggestions welcome, thanks.
Cat urine is very concentrated, even moreso if you have a cat that does not like water, or drinks very little water. Cats get all the liquid they need usually from their foods; however, Cat who are fed canned food drink very little water, if any. Those who are fed dry foods will drink more water, and need to always have water available (or else they go to the toilet to drink, or wherever else inside they can find water). Some owners get upset when they think their cats needs to drink water; do not, or will not drink

I left car window open at my mom's and her cat got in and wet all over - marking my car and peeing in my leather purse. New purse so I wanted to save it. Tried this and it worked real well. (Some cat products work well but sometimes a trial and error process to get just the right one).

Washed purse out with baking soda and water, then hung outside in the sun for about half a day. Went back to check, not feeling good that anything helped, and it worked. However, to be sure, I hung it outside for a couple more days to be sure. Once thoroughly dried, sprinkled some baking soda in it for extra measure. Sprayed with Febreze as last step. (also cleaned inside of car with this same process).

Also one of my cats used one of my school tote bags (similar to the ones now used for shopping bags) - heavier material than those but porous still. Used the same process on this type of material and it worked well, again. (This material is not one that would wash well, so had to find alternative, and this is what I did, as with the purse.
Wipe it down again with vinegar, maybe even close it while moist. Put it in a warm place (attic/trunk of car) for a month or so. Alternately, you could leave it open in one of those two places and the heat will speed up the outgassing of the smell.
Soak it with a mixture of water vinegar and baking soda let set for a day rinse good. Hope that helps. Can you cut the liner out and not have or replace? Just an idea.
Good luck - I had a "gym" bag that had gotten cat urine in it. I'm not sure if it was one of mine as they never do it, or it was from whoever had it before (picked it up in a yard sale). But the inside smelled like cat pee. I tried using Clorex on it several times and other cleaners and none of them worked to get it out completely. I even had baby powder and baking soda sprinkled in it and let it sit and that did not get is out.

I'm afraid to tell you that it probably will not come out. I have no suggestion for you as I've been thru the same thing.
Most pet odor removers, at least the good ones, use enzymes to break down & remove stains & odors. They are usually effective & guaranteed (they'll refund your money if they don't work to your satisfaction). Two of the best are Nature's Miracle & Urine-off. But, since you 've already tried cleaning it with other stuff (like the clorox wipes), the detergents & bleaches in the cleaners counter act most of the enzymes & the pet odor removers then won't work. In these cases (when you've already used other cleaners), the best product available is "Urine-Away" made by a company called Ceva. (Ceva specializes in behavioral products likes Feliway pheromones). Urine-Away works on a molecular level & is the best product to use if you've already tried other stuff & they didn't work. Also, it's guaranteed, so if it doesn't work, they'll refund your money. It might only be available through veterinary hospitals, I'm not sure if it's sold at pet stores or not. There are a lot of pet odor removers available, so it's important to get the right one. Urine-Away made by Ceva Animal Health is your best bet. Good luck!
