Every time someone in my house takes a shower my cat lays outside the bathroom. Why do you think he does this? He usually stays there until you open the door or leave the bathroom.
Generally, cats do not like closed doors.
The bathroom is part of the cat's territory and having access to all parts of its territory is important to cats.
He is probably anxious about the door being shut and once you open it the anxiety is relieved.
Try closing the bathroom door with no one in it and see if he does the same thing; if he does, there is your answer.
The kitty is waiting for you to come out and to give him all the attention he can muster ... cats have a way of getting attention some how .... my cat did this too ... its normal. just like a kid waiting for dad to get home .... waiting to see what you have for him when you waltz through the door ... even if it is the bathroom ... cats don't know that lol!
He just wants to be with you like everyone else is saying=] My kitty waits on top of our couch next to the door when we leave the house till we get back .. and when i take a shower she sits next to the tub till im out .. He really loves you and that is a very good thing=]
One of our cats does that too. He's a people lover and likes to be where the people are. He even likes it when company comes over. He doesn't hide like the other 2 cats.
