Looking for suggestions on what I can do to make my two grown cats and my new kitten avoid going under a recliner. I'm thinking of putting cayenne pepper in a plastic jar and poking holes in the top so they can smell it but it won 't get on them. Hopefully that will keep them away but not sure if it'll work. I'd get rid of the chair all together if I could but the thing is me and my girlfriend are buying a house with her newly divorced dad ... and it's his chair. He'd never hurt a animal on purpose but accidents can happen so I'm just trying to play it safe. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Put sheets of aluminum foil under it and around it. They hate the sound and feel. Clap hands suddenly and loudly when you see one under the chair.
Cats are den animals, find an alternate like a low coffee table and put a runner or small table cloth on it so they can see but feel like they are hiding out watching everyone
Try Noxzema most cats can't stand it.
