I found a stray cat and I want to keep it BUT?

It wants to kill my other cat. As in a month or two ago, it saw my cat inside and was lunging at the glass. But it likes people a lot (as most strays around here do) and I'd really like another cat . How can I convince my dad to convince my mom to keep it? My daddy's pretty persuasive, so I just need him on my side lol ... I was thinking of keeping it in the bathroom for a week or two to get the fleas out, litter train, etc, but that wouldn't make it be nice to my other cat. My other cat loves to be a part of things but hates to be touched or petted in general lol.
I don't think that this is a safe position for both cats. But there are ways to get both cats to like each other.First I would take the cat to the vet (if you already didn't do that) to get the fleas and maybe medical help sorted out. Then I would re-introduce them but please be careful and you should be holding one cat. (Be careful because cats especially males can be very territorial). I would do this at least 3 times a week. They might get used to each other and live life fine after that (like my cats did). But if it doesn't work .. (I have been in the same position as you) and I REALLY recommend that you locate a local pet shelter and give them the cat because you never know it can change someone else's life too. (: P Hope I could help)
I don't think you should keep the cat. You have no idea where it has been b4 you saw it, it could have rabies, could be sick or anything else extremely serious! You could like bing it to a vet or something so they can see if anything is wrong with it and if not then you might want to adopt it as your own.
I would think that you wouldn't want to bring it in until a vet checks it out. Stray's can make healthy house cat's sick. ALso you need to keep in mind your current cat-and if this cat seems to not like it through the window maybe it would be best to try and find it a home. Newspaper adds, etc ...? Good LUck!
dont de claw it
It's one thing if cats hiss and growl at each other when they are unfamiliar , but I wouldn't bring in a cat who acted as if it wanted to do something violent. Many cats are fine with people but can't be with other cats; I know a woman who brought in a stray like that, but she has to pen it in her bathroom at all times or it will attack her other cats. It's perfectly nice to her, but it is destroying her bathroom out of frustration (she refuses to get rid of it). Maybe you could try to find it a home where it can be the only cat - sounds like it would be safer that way from what you are saying.

If you want a second cat, check around the local shelters and rescues. The people who work with the cats all the time can tell you if they would be good around other cats or not.

Just thinking of the safety of your own cat ...
