Ew ... I love my cat but not that much! You can get all sorts of disgusting parasites that way, and maybe a disease or two. If you want to eat with your cat, at least give him a separate plate and keep him away from yours.
I'm not going to judge whether it's twisted, but it definitely isn't sanitary. Plus the cat should not be eating people food - it isn't healthy for the cat and some of it, like onions, grapes, raisins, garlic, salt and pepper for example, are toxic. So is chocolate, so sharing dessert isn't a good idea either. If you happen to have a tiny bit leftover plain, baked chicken or fish on your plate when you're done and you want to give that to your cat, you can get away with it if you have a dishwasher you can sterilize it in afterward. If you don't, just keep a separate small plate for your cat and put it on there.
I don't know about twisted, but it certainly is unsanitary. I used to have a cat who was very curious about my food, and I would let her try a bit from my fingers or another surface. Once in a long while, I'd let her lick my plate when I was done eating. Which is odd when you consider I'm vegan. But it didn't hurt her; she lived to 18. The cat I live with now has zero interest in human food.
