Roundworms maybe??? Please help 10 points!!?
I'm pretty sure my cat has roundworm because they look like pasta. He sometimes throw up but not everyday. I was wondering if I could treat this at home with an over the couner medication. If so what roundworm medications to you reccomend?

My 2 other dogs have been throwing up lately. I think my german shepherd might have them because she has gotten into my cats litter box. I'll treat them both what medication do you reccomend???????

Actually, tapeworms are also very long and noodle-like. I would recommend using Safeguard by 8-in-one. It is a bit more expensive than your average de-wormer but the benefit is it is the only over the counter medicine that treats all 4 types of intestinal parasites: roundworms, whipworms, hookworms and tapeworms. That way you can be sure you took care of the problem. Its a flavored powder that you pour over their food. My animals have taken it in the past with no problems and it has always been effective. My suggestion? You take a fecal sample to your vet to have it properly diagnosed, then get the proper medication. Since you suspect your dog may have eaten those kitty "Tootsie rolls", your vet can probably provide the proper medication to treat your dog. You will need to know the weight of your dog. Your dog shouldn't need to be seen by the vet.

To know your cat has no more worms requires a follow up fecal flotation test, and you can't do that. And without it, you won't know if everything is killed.
If your cat has them and the dog ate poop, yes, the dog has them too. Just phone your vet and tell them you've got roundworm in your cat's poo, that you'll need a dewormer for your dog and cat. Take a poop sample in with you.

Too many over the counter medications are counterfeit at the stores, you get far better dewormer control straight from the vets who buy directly from the manufacturers. Stores buy from a warehouse who gets their stock from the lowest seller.
Sounds like it - we treated our kitty with an OTS roundworm pill that we purchased at Petco. It was about $11.00 and it seems to have helped. You can also go online to PetMeds site and order it. Good Luck!
