My kitten, Is there anyhting bad wrong with him?
Hes like my son! i love him so much and my friends are telling me im over reacting because he is my first kitten.
well im a little worried, hes what im noticing
He is so skinny. He is one year and 5 monthes. Of course i feed him everyday but i split it with 2 other cats. they are having plenty to eat because one of them is chubby and the other never stops eating. But him. I have never really seen him eat wet food, I have even tried isolating him and he wont eat. He will eat dry food and drink water.
also he is skinny and Long. Is this normal?
lately he has been lounging around more than normal. this mornign i went in to the hall and he was just laying there like a lump holing a hand towel. he doesnt lay in the middle of the hallway to nap. and his eyes looked a little sad:(.
I am bringing him to the vet soon but what should i expect when i get there? should she find somthing bad wrong? I am so scared that somthing bad will happen!

and last week i found a bald spot on his arm! he is chewing himself(what irony his name is chewy lol) Is he doing this out of boredom or stress? how can i find out? I just want my baby to be ok.
Sorry if this is alot he is my first kitten and i am just so worried i love him so much like hes my son he is my baby boy!(im 14 by the way its not relevant though lol)
Thank You to anyone who took the time to read this.
Have you wormed him? There may be a parasite, the vet will find it. You may need to put him in a carrier or crate to feed, keep the other cats from getting his. Meanwhile, just make sure he's getting water.
You said you will be taking him to the vet soon. I hope soon means, tomorrow. You need to get him in. If he is too skinny and not really eating, that needs to be addressed. If he is eating food, that is O.K. It does not matter what type as long as it is enough, but he should be a normal weight. Is he neutered? This could contribute to his lower weight. The laying around, and funny eyes might tell you he needs to go in. Just take him in and see what the vet says. They you will have your answer. Maybe he has worms, or an infection (both treatable). Just see what the vet says. By the way, since he is older he may not be meowing as much. He may just know how to get his needs met, now.
Excuse me for answering your question with a question, but did you get this kitten from a different person, or have you had him since his birth?

If you got him from a breeder or any other home and brought him to your home, he may just be experiencing stress from the sudden change in habitat. I have a cat that I got from a breeder when she was just a kitten and she did some of the same things that you kitten is doing once she got to my house. It was just because she needed some time to get used to her new surroundings, and that may also be the case with your kitten.
If you have had him since birth than maybe you might have changed something in the environment and he is becoming stressed out by it. Or maybe he is just bored.
If this behavior continues to happen then I strongly suggest that you take him to a vet. He could be very sick, and you just don't know it.
I hope your kitten gets better, and I hope this helped in some way!
First of all I would ask that you let us know what particular breed of cat (if you know) he is because some cats are built completely different for example a Siamese or Abyssinian are extremely slender cats naturally with long limbs. My cat is skinny and he doesn't eat any wet food only dry cat food. Have you made a change in brand of cat food? Cats are very finicky and can display discontent if the food is not what they want. Example changing from Friskies to a Wal-Mart store brand like Special Kitty. Taking him to the vet if you are truly concerned is never wrong. You love your kitty and taking him to an expert to either ease your mind or help fix a problem is the best solution. You don't want to delay it for too long because if there is something wrong and you are listening to others saying you are overreacting you could be doing your kitty a disservice. You could actually prolong pain and cause the problem to exacerbate the situation. Do what you feel is best and I would take him to the doctor.

I understand how you feel, I'm 14 and I have a little kitty 1 yr and 3 months and if anything happened to him I would be devastated (He's my cat, not my mum or dads)
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Anyway, I was thinking him not eating might have just been because the other cats were the dominant ones, and he was scared of the big cats hurting/fighting with him if he tried to eat before them, but then after hearing that even when alone he wasn't eating, that's a bit worrying, especially if he's very skinny.
