How do you Help a Cat That Is Stressing Out?
I have a 3 yr. old male cat that I adopted from a humane society along with his brother when he was 6 weeks old. He's always been the "baby" and a complete lover of a cat. Last year I ended up unintentionally rescuing a female kitten and adding her to the family. All three are spayed/neutered and completely indoor cats. Then a few months ago we added our first human addition to the family:) Neither one of these additions seemed to sit well with my cat. I try to give him extra love and attention but now he has started picking fights with the other two cats. Hissing fur-flying kind of fights, not playful at all. I'm assuming he might be stressed? Can you please give me some suggestions to help out my cat? He's such a sweet heart most of the time and I feel bad for him.
put it on a leash and take it outside

I am glad that there is people like you that really care about their pets. First you have to remember that cats even though that your cats are indoor they are still pack animals and in pack animals they have to establish who is the dominant one. Things are sketchy between the two males because of the female that you brought in and the fact that the two males are trying to establish who is the more dominant one.even though she is young she is a female. and even though they are all fixed they are still going to want to establish dominance. He is also jealous because of the other cat and the presence of the new addition to your family. Congratulations by the way !! Good luck with them, Remember that they are animals and just like humans establish order among them selves. Good luck with your new little one !! Take care.
You could try a Feliway plug-in diffuser. It has pheremones (natural calming substances) which help cats to relax in stressful situations. They're sold in larger pet supply stores and online also. Hope this helps!
