Cat separation anxiety and getting mean issues?
I've been busy with school and work so my cat has had less attention and is getting bored and lonely at home without me. She bites me sometimes and scratches at me. I think it's partially playful since it's at night when she's most active a lot of the time but, are there any ideas of what I can do to make her feel more secure and entertained while I'm away?
She has a history of being left alone and so I think that's partially it she was alone for a month or two before I got her with just people feeding her and when I got her she was very clingy. But I'm a busy girl and I made a life commitment to keep her and I know that my current schedule is not going to be forever but, while I have to work and go to school does anyone have any ideas?
Should I leave the TV on? Radio? Are there any toy ideas that she might enjoy as she doesn't play well alone right now? Please let me know if you have any ideas. I don't want to get rid of her and I can't get another cat for company(not that I think it'd really work out well, she doesn't like other cats very much and it'd just be competition for attention).

Stuff she does:
-Bites and claws at me when I pet her or when I walk by.
-knocks things on tables and counters over, and her food and water bowl.
-Follows me around when I get home and meows for about 20-30 minuets.
-Scratches and meows at doors(like when I'm in the bathroom or at night I have to keep her out of my room as she sits next to the bed and meows half the night when she's not running around the house.
I love my cat so please tell me what I can do to make her happy? I'm trying to spend more time with her but somedays are hard.
If I was in your shoes, and you know you work or go to school a lot. Why have the cat suffer! Would you want to be like that? No Right! so stop acting childish, and selfish and give the cat a good home re-home it in craigslist. There is a lot of couples looking for adoptions to give pets a good home with their family

Get a young male kitten (preferably neutered). Not too young and not too mature. My cat was very similar to yours and that is what the pet shop in my town suggested me. They said; because the male is so young she will take it in as one of her own and not see him as a territorial threat as she would another female. If you don't want another cat, maybe a cat sitter? to take care of her during the day, love her up and whatnot. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Hope this helps <3
I have a cat and I leave the house a lot and for hours at a time, I leave her in my room though bc that's where she wants to be, I leave the tv on for her also. Your cat probably will get used to your schedule but for now you could make sure he/she is able to get into your room any time she wants, it sounds weird but sometimes a cat just wants to be around your stuff ( my cat has her own blanket on my bed which she spends most of her time on haha) also, if you could devote quality time to the cat when you do get home and play with her or even just show affection that will reassure her that you're always going to come back bc cats like humans do need to know that. But when your cat gets used to your schedule it should be fine. You could also get her a scratching post with catnip or something for when you're not there but I would say def let her have access to your room when you're away bc sometimes all they want is to feel close to you, hope that makes sense lol. And I hope this helps you and her!! :)
Fact is - as you already pointed out - that your cat is bored. She is most likely sleeping all day because nothing to do than just eat, drink and sleep.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com And as soon as you are there, the tries to get affection and playtime, things she deserve and you are willing but currently not able to provide.
I like to use the following example:
Imagine you are adopted by a friendly bear. He keeps you in his den and to ensure you are not running away (he worries for your security) he lashes you at a pillar. All day long you have neither something not someone to interact or communicate with - except few toys. In the evening your care giver comes back and you are glad you have someone to play and talk with but the only thing the bear does is feeding you and then starts sleeping.
I am pretty sure that you would love when your caregiver would either re-home you to his friends who already have an other "pet human" or to get an other human for your company.
Same for your cat, she is simply begging desperately for your attention which gives you two main possibilities to solve it.
