ok i have a 9 year old cat who will not poop all of a sudden. we took him to the vet last night they took ax ray and his gut is literaly FULL of poop. they gave me this gell stuff for him (the way the vet explaned it it is vasalene, molases, and tuna flavoring.) i fed it to him as he said to. no problem rite? he still hasnt poopt.he peed a extreme amount but has not poopt. im wondering if theres anything else i can give him to help him poop? he seems really uncomfertable.
Try some canned pumpkin mixed into his food. Not pumpkin pie filling (because of the sugar and spices) but pure canned pureed pumpkin.
Mix a teaspoon (a measuring spoon teaspoon) into his food at mealtime.
Pumpkin is loaded with fibre.
Don't stop using what the vet gave you. If your cat is that blocked up, it might take some time for what your vet gave him to start working. Follow the directions meticulously.
My kitten had the same problem after an xray and the vet gave him an enema which didnt work so, he gave us some more to do at home along with giving him lactolose. And they work brilliantly. Hope this helps.
