I order my Frontline Plus for my cats online for the better price. I hadn't noticed when it first arrived that it was for dogs. Can I still use the "dog" stuff on my cats? I had read in Cat Fancy magazine never do this, put I don't always believe advertising biased answers. Please help ... Thanks
All online stores have a return/exchange policy, so why not just send it back and get the correct formula?
It's more about the size of the dose rather than the poison that is used to kill fleas. Since you use the plural of cat, yes you typed cats, then I take it you have more than one. Correct?
If so, and you are dead set on using the dog formula, then why not use one dosage meant for dogs and make it treat two or three cats?
I really do think it's the dosage over cat/dog when it comes to killing fleas.
Use common sense, and I bet that you can even take it to a local store and exchange it for the correct ca/dog dosage. Most stores will exchange without a receipt, so I'd try that route as long as it's a legit Frontline produce and not some counterfeit version sold on some scam website.

Hope this helps,
When it comes to Advantage, a tube for a 50 pound dog constitutes four or five treatments for a 10 pound cat (but costs about the same) - get a needle-free syringe and fill it to the .8 mark. Most vets won't do this, as it is an "off-label" use (and cuts into their profits!). I was not aware that Frontline was so significantly different from Advantage. I'd check online , or call the manufacturer and find out if the two treatments contain different medications. I'd definitely go with better safe than sorry, but do explore the possibility of stretching your treatment dollars. When I got my cat, the folks from the local rescue organization were the ones who gave me the money saving hint, but they did specify that I use Advantage.
We tried it with our kitten, and he accidentally ate some of it and started foaming at the mouth. I wouldn't do this. He might be okay, but I would not recommend this.
I wouldn't recommend that it'll probably do harm to your cat try getting your money back somehow or somehow send it back and get the cat frontline

you can use advantage for dogs on cats. Not the frontline
Only if you want a dead cat - NEVER use any kind of dog products on a cat - it will kill them or make them very sick.
NO!! !!!!!!! DO NOT DO THAT!!!! MY FRENCH TEACHER DID THAT AND HER CAT ALMOST DIED!!! IT WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 5 DAYS.
