my cat has a huge lump on his cheek?

he is 6 months old, he is fixed and up to date on all vaccines. he is an indoor cat and never goes out.

this lump came up very quickly, but seems to be staying the same size. he is eating and playing like normal.

he is going to the vet in town as soon as they open up tomorrow, also i am keeping an eye on him overnight just in case we need to take him to the ER vet in the town beside us.

im wondering if anyone knows what this is???? and why ti came up so quick?

thanks in advance!

Vaccines with adjuvant, an ingredient included to stimulate the immune system, have been implicated as a higher risk, although other injectable drugs have been incriminated as well. Adjuvanted vaccines have been demonstrated to induce mutation in cell cultures. Adjuvanted Rabies, Distemper and Feline Leukemia vaccines have been classified as Class II carcinogens by the World Health Organization.
Probably an abscess. An abscessed tooth is unlikely in a 6 month old cat, but still a possibility. More than likely, just an infection. If you have other cats, he might have gotten bitten or scratched and it sealed up and became infected. Other possibility is some type of insect bite, or allergic reaction. Being that hes 6 months old, and otherwise healthy, its probably nothing too serious. Glad youre taking him to the vet. I'll cross my fingers that its an abscess, since theyre quite easy to treat.
Abscess, sometimes they pop and pus comes out, it is very nice of you to take him to the vet, they will pop it and clean it and they will give you antibiotics. I had a kitty at 2 years old he got one of those, the vet cleaned it. I hope he gets well. Good luck ...
It could be an abcess of a tooth, or he could have bitten his cheek and it is infected. These things happen very fast and you are doing the right thing getting him to the vet.
It may have an ulsar, so you have to put it down.
It's a tumor
