Is Preferred pet food cans good for cats?

I brought Preferred pet food cans for my cat from Pathmark and wanted to know if this is a good brand for her? I feed her friskies cans but changed it because it was making her have gas. I want to avoid feeding her dry foods so I 'm searching for a brand of can foods that is affordable so I could keep her on it. Preferred pet food cans were very affordable it doesn't contain wheat, soy or corn which I heard were ingredients to avoid when buying cat food.
I couldn't find anything about it except a recall a couple of years ago. I wouldn't let that alone stop you, though, since so many foods have had recalls in the past few years. Great that it doesn't have wheat, soy, and corn. Not seeing the ingredients list makes it hard to say for sure but that's a good start. The other thing I like to avoid is by-products, but by-products aren't as bad as corn and wheat, in my opinion:) Another check is to make sure the meat is named. It's good to see chicken or fish or whatever, vs "meat".
There are many varieties of cat food on the market, it doesn 't mean it is or isn't good for your particular pet. There are many places on the internet where you can check on pet food. There are certain things in cat foods they need and don't need. I would first research what vitamins, etc a cat needs in his diet. For instance. By nature cats don't like water so they don't drink enough. No cat should subsist just on dry food. this is a mistake I made myself. it can lead to all kinds of problems including kidney failure. There are also many recipies on the internet for making your own pet food. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Constantly changing a cats diet can and will make him sick. I have one cat that is very sensitive to change and actually ran a fever when I changed brands. IF you change brands don't just switch. Do the change gradually, mixing small amounts of the new brand in the old brand, gradually getting larger until he is eating the new brand. I am amazed when I go to the store and see people buying all these different types of food. the more you change his diet, the more finicky he will become and most people just don't know this
Good on you for picking out the ingredients that will cause her harm! I've actually not heard of Preferred .... But if it has few ingredients and those ingredients don't contain the icky by-products that you were talking about, then it's probably good. I feed my cat, canned Feline Fayre. The only thing I dislike about it is that it has glucose. I don't know that cats need glucose, but I'm assuming it's a preservation thing of some sort.

Feline Fayre goes for about 50 cents a can at walmart, though it does come in a pack of 4. Not bad!
Try Fancy. However, don't keep switching her cat foods regardless of wet food or dry food. Try and stick with one brand. Switching foods to often can upset your animals stomach, and your supposed to slowly remove the old brand while switching it in with the new.
