Here is my problem, we have all outdoor cats because my dad won't let them in the house with our dogs. Go figure they being outdoors we feed and water them, but my parents just let them roam otherwise. I've told them neumerous times to either get them all fixed or get rid of them so that other people can have nice kitties and not have more kittens born each spring and summer. I feel so bad not having any money being between highschool and college and leaving my cat's outside to reproduce, making their numbers swell. I have roughly 10-13 right now, and with winter coming they hopefully won't reproduce because the babies wouldn't be able to survive in the cat box I built for them to sleep in that I have inside my sun porch. Of course I'm going to build another box to give them adaquate sleeping room, and some of the cats find their own sleeping places in the neighborhood, but I want this insanity to stop. I love cats and the ones I have outside I can pet and usually most of them will come up to me, but one or two of them are skittish so capture will be difficult. I hate seeing them suffer like this, so my question is: Would I have any possibility of getting a mobile oporating room to come and fix them? Do they even exist? I've tried to take them to the local shelter, but it's very cramped there and having no money I can't pay the shelter to take them. I can feed and house the cats that's not the problem at all, they have fared well for outdoor cats. I just want them so stop populating so that I can take care of the ones I have properly.
Neuter yes. I had 3 of my males neutered at my house. Spayed, I don't think so, I took mine in the vets office, female cats need to be hospitalized their procedure is total different and harder, they have to go under general anesthesia, since they need to have a cut in the tummy. If I was you, I would google to see if they have the mobile in your city. If you wont be able to do this, please don't give them to the shelter, you know they will kill them, try see if they have NO KILL SHELTER in your area, at least they don't kill them. I hope I helped and I hope everything goes well ... Good luck
I haven't heard of a mobile operating room for pets ... yet. I am not saying they don't exist, I just haven't heard of any .. You might ask the vet if there is any type of oral birth control that can given in their food. Just an idea
Our vet will do males at home, but females require more surgery than a simple neuter, so I dont know if they can for the girls.
