i went to the vet, her leg was broken cant afford surgery but since then her breathing has been very shallow and sharp/heavy and the vet said its bc shes in pain ... but shes walking around now and doesnt seemto be in pain so why is she stillbreathing so heavy .. could i have damaed her lungs?? her ribs feel ok but im not sure
just because she can walk it doe not mean it dustnt hert lol all bone heal them selves over time and all creatures can heal themselves long as there is no bleeding she will savive and if she stops moving loses weight that will be a good time to think about taking her back to the vet thats just my opinion thought don't hold it against me
If you cannot afford a vet to splint the broken leg, you might be able to do it your self but it takes some work because the kitten will try to get away. Use popsicle sticks or tongue depressor-type sticks (can find in craft section) . Use removable medical tape. Will also need some gauze.Wrap the leg and hip area with the gauze before you wrap with tape because a cat will get out of just about anything. The other important thing is to keep the kitten restricted to a small area or cat carrier to keep it from moving about too much.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com It will seem to be breathing hard or pant because of pain. The only thing I can think of is find a rescue group who might have a vet attached who might help you with something - check the phone book, check with the local animal shelter to find out what you can do.
If it was just a broken leg, that is not so bad - but it will mean that you will need to lean how to splint it, and it can be done. See if you can get a friend to help you by holding it as you work with it - because some animals in pain will bite and scratch. Too bad the vet did not offer you some advice to help for the pain - because you cannot give pets the same meds that humans take - and I cannot think of what you can give it for pain. Also try practicing on something before you start working on the kitten to get an idea of what you will need to do,
Yes you could have - pleas do the right thing and surrender the animqal to the Humane Society so she can get the care she needs - if she does not, she can very we, kll die. I don; t think you want that, so stop playing with her health and get her care - her health and life mean more than you saying you own a cat (who cannot get fixed by you) she maybe permanently damaged, so look after her health and give her over to the Humane Society.
If your animal has a broken bone, it's in pain and stressed. That will cause panting. I understand that surgery is expensive but you have to do something. If it is very bad and you can't fix it, you may need to euthanize it. Sorry. It is not fair to let an animal that counts on you suffer.
See if your vet is willing to do a payment plan that you can pay off bit by bit. If not you need to give it up to shelter or somewhere it will be taken care of.
take her back to the vet and ignore idiot JhonQ laughing and saying the asker has a dying kitten>: (
