I think my cat might have UTI. Is it ok to just assume she does and get her UTI formula?
Bringing her to the vet is not an option. What should i do?
Agree, foods are for prevention and can help dissolve some crystals that are already formed. But an infection involves bacteria where it shouldn't be. Special diets don 't help with that, antibiotics do. It can be fatal if ignored so take your cat to the vet or sign her over to a humane society or no kill rescue or something.
What do you mean, get her UTI formula? Are you talking about cat food? Those foods do not actually treat UTIs, they are supposed to prevent them. They are not going to do anything for a cat who already has an infection.
If your cat has a UTI she needs antibiotics from a vet. Left untreated, UTIs can become extremely dangerous quickly and will eventually kill the cat. Providing medical care is part of your responsibility as a pet owner, and a urinalysis and antibiotics should not be that expensive. Letting the cat suffer while the infection worsens will cost you a LOT more in the long run.
You can do that if you are sure the cat has a UTI. I would HIGHLY recommend taking the cat to a vet though , I cannot see how that isn't an option. You have a responsiblity toward your pets to maintain their health and give them the best care possible. I know how expensive a vet can be, if you look at small towns their vets are usually WAY cheaper than the ones in a bigger city. We live in a large city and drive an hour to take our pets to a vet, when you are rescuing animals the bills can get quite large so it's worth the drive. Please give your cat the care it needs ... if not ... give it to someone who can.
You think and we are to assume? I think not. There is no way I would assume any such thing without a vet checking out the cat . Lets assume she is starting into kidney failure, a blockage from crystal, or a tumor, hmm what would you do? All the above can kill a cat and it would be a painful death and would you deny your cat a vet? The only other option I can think of is surrendering her to a no kill shelter for proper treatment and then they will place her in a home that will make sure she gets proper vet treatment and the love she needs. So you have 2 options as I see it get her to the vet before she gets worse and starts not using the litter box or surrender her. It is your choice to make, I know what I would do (VET).
