My parents want them to be near each other to get along however, i don't think that's going to solve anything, will it? I don't want my Lil Cosmo (puppy) to be aggressive!
Well, I hate to say this but your dog is giving Cosmo a taste of his own medicine. After being picked on for so long the dog is probably thinking this is all a game and he's now initiating it. Stop the fighting when you see it and when no one is home separate them. Your dog is obviously large and can really hurt your cat (especially if he is old) and one wrong bite can kill your cat. Spray them with water or clap your hands really loud and tell them "NO!" ; It will take time to train them both.
when raising animals, it actually is best to let them be near each other. its also good to let your pets be around everyone in the family. if you don't, they won't get used to you and then you have fear biters, the dogs that attack people out of fear because they don't know them and then they get put down. my advice is to let the be around each other and the family as much as possible.
Husky s don't like cats. U don't get a husky if u have a cat. 1 husky + 1 cat=1 husky trust me I have a husky and just yesterday he tried to eat a cat and luckily I pulled him away. They should not be near each other
your puppy will not become aggressive to humans! lots of cats and dogs don't get along like mine so we leave them alone and allow them to bark and hiss each other and you know what? they are the best of friends now!
You say fight, but they might be playing. I doubt the puppy will get aggressive. They're just playing.
