We have a lavender farm and lots of the plants in the house garden. Our cat (13 years old) wanders in the field and sleeps in the garden next to the plants and he has never suffered at all from the lavender. The web site quoted in a previous answer refers only to using lavender essential oil on cats, not to them just being around plants.

Well my vet said it was safe for them but they dont like it, so put it where you dont want them:) thats just what my vet said
