I'm doing a persuasive speech for my speech class about convincing people to do the alternatives to declawing that do the surgery, but I need a really good statistic of how many cats are actually declawed. Does anyone know of a good journal, article, anything creditable?
Try this ... it has lots of references to other reputable journals, etc.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onychectomy ... It estimates in the US% 25 percent of cats are declawed. HOW TERRIBLE! As a cat breeder I stictly forbide in my contracts to allow my cats to be declawed after purchase. Good for you to raise awareness on this cruel issue!
