My cat has a tape worm i think?
ok i know my cat has worms. im going to take her to the vet soon. Anyways my question is even though you cant see the worms coming out her butt, does that mean she doesnt have any? I do not want my cat in my room afriad that she could get me infected, and my aunt never sees the worms coming out so she assumes my cat doesnt have any. Please HELP
answer:
Most parasitic worms in cats only come out in the stool, or in vomit during certain parts of their lifecycle. Just because you can't see them does NOT mean they arent there. I would recommend taking a stool sample to your vet to test for worms. They can test for eggs, larvae, egg sacs, or other determinates to find out if the cat is infected. These things can only be seen under a microscope. Whether the test is positive or negative there are a few more things you should know. Tape worms are contacted from ingesting fleas, or another infected animal. Unless you eat your cat you are not in danger of getting worms yourself. When they do show up in the stool they look small and flat like rice. If you are noticing long thing spaghetti like
If this were my cat here is what I would do:

Take her to the vet. If it is possible to get a fresh sample of poo (sorry I know it's gross) before you leave they can do an analysis and find out what kind of worm, or worms, she may have.

My cat recently got worms somehow also; I was a bit confused because she is an indoor cat too. Luckily they just threw a pill down here throat and told me that she would need another one in 3 weeks.

Apparently it takes a couple of times to get rid of worms in cats or so I'm told.

Finally, I would conpletely sanitize her cat box. Empty out the litter and use Clorox wipes or a lot of soap and water on it. Then replace it with new litter. This is because if she happens to step on some poo with the worms, and then licks her foot, she can become reinfected.

I'm doing this once a week until my cats worms are completely gone.

Hopefully this helped a bit.
Your vet will want a stool sample from the cat. Bring a fresh one in with you and you will find out quicker. Use a ziplock bag.
Sounds like too much trouble, especially in this economy. Just kill the cat
take it to vet sooooon
